history
Established in 1974, the Ballantine School of Physical Science opened in a former brewery with the goal of teaching approximately 625 students a curriculum heavily based on sciences. The brewery building was constructed in 1860 and is the oldest remaining structure from this empire left in the city. Eventually the rapidly growing high school needed newer facilities, and in approximately 2006 it moved into a brand new building with state of the art facilities, locking the doors forever.
Currently there are plans to develop this historic building into condominiums in the near future.
