This Sanatarium first opened in the year 1910 to combat Tuberculosis. It became the first sanatarium in the country to devote itself exclusively to children in the year 1918, and continued on that way for approximately 20 years before reverting back to accepting patients of all ages. The hospital was eventually restructured to treat mental patients in 1963, and it continued until the year 1976, when doors were closed forever.
